Women Life Connected is proud to announce our latest Spotlight Member Carolyn Scott-Hamilton. Carolyn is the creator of The Healthy Voyager, is a TV Host/Media Personality, Holistic Nutritionist, Plant Based Foods Chef, Best-Selling Cookbook Autho
The Healthy Voyager is is a one stop shop for all things healthy and green living and travel via various tv shows, web series, weekly recipes, articles and more!
According to Carolyn her journey began some time ago. “ Since I chose to make the switch for a healthier, plant based lifestyle almost 20 years ago, I really wanted to do it right. I read so many books on health and tried all sorts of offshoots from macrobiotic to raw and everything in between. Ultimately I ended up getting my Masters degree in Holistic Nutrition and started my PhD In Naturopathic Medicine, not so much to practice but for my own personal knowledge. I absolutely loved it and was so grateful to have gained that knowledge at a time where the information was nowhere near as plentiful as it is now.
Additionally, I was growing tired of bowlfulls of guacamole, cucumber sandwiches and cardboard-like chocolate chip cookies so I went to culinary school,, to gain skills for myself to lead a healthier, tastier life! I really just wanted to make sure that I could find that healthy balance to prove that being vegan was not only great for your health but also fun, delicious and easy!
I never had any plans to use my degrees for anything more than for my own personal knowledge and for my family and friends. In fact, I was working in PR when I finished my schooling and opened my own PR firm and it wasn't until a few years later that I put my nutritionist and chef cap on.”
Launching her travel show and brand 'The Healthy Voyager’ was a natural next step:
“I began to work with private clients while still working on PR and traveling quite a bit for work. In my travels, I really saw how difficult it was to travel outside of LA or NYC as a vegan. I did all sorts of things like pack my food, cook in my hotel room MacGuyver style (yeah, I would steam veggies in the coffee pot, make miso soup in the coffee kettle, etc) and even live off of terrible dry salads. I thought to myself “Hey, I can't be the only one who finds traveling difficult due to their dietary restrictions” and the idea for The Healthy Voyager was born.
Knowing that there where so many people out there who were vegan, vegetarian, diabetic, gluten free, etc who where hesitant to travel because of the lack of food options, I wanted to create a resource to open the world up to everyone. At the time, the most popular travel shows where about overeating the most vile foods in excess or eating bugs and weird stuff in even weirder places. Nothing that actually benefitted the viewer. However, since it was in the infancy of the special diet world in the early 2000s, most networks didn't want to touch such a non-mainstream idea, yet.
Luckily, having my own PR firm, I had the skills to build my own brand and so I did. Back in 2006, pre-dating “social media”, I launched The Healthy Voyager travel show on Youtube. And since I was producing it on my own with zero budget, I couldn't churn out shows but I could churn out blog posts, also very early in the online space. In many ways, I felt like I was shouting into space but quickly I began to see my following growing as there wasn't much for vegans online at the time, let alone traveling as a vegan. Over time I started sharing my recipes along with my travel stories and tips and now I have a full healthy and green lifestyle site at HealthyVoyager.com that still features my flagship travel show and now my cooking show, The Healthy Voyager's Global Kitchen, which so happens to be the name of my international cookbook as well.
I also have the great fortune of sharing my travels on national tv on various shows including my recurring travel segment on Hallmark's Home & family show.
I've had some pretty extraordinary experiences since launching my show and brand but here are the ones that really stand out for me:
I had the wonderful opportunity shortly after launching my brand to go to Kenya with Virgin Unite (Virgin's philanthropic arm) to build dorms and bring water to a Massai Mara school in Kenya. Not only did I get a terrific Healthy Voyager episode from it, I had the chance to document it all for Virgin and spend lots of time with Sir Richard Branson, one of my entrepreneurial idols! My time in Kenya and working with Virgin was life changing and I will never forget it.
Sometimes I get to bring people with me on my travels and one was hosting a week of Vegano Italiano! It was a wonderful trip where 12 people joined me in a gorgeous Italian villa in southern Italy, not far from Naples, for daily vegan Italian food, unique day trips and a whole lots of fun! I love being able to share my travels with friends and family while also making new friends.
More recently, I was commissioned by the US Air Force to give talks and do cooking demos on bases around the world. A big honor for me to help those who protect us to protect themselves, my first assignment was on a base in Turkey not far from the Syrian border. With all that was going on the in the region, I was a bit hesitant but I figured if they thought it was safe enough for a civilian to head over there, then I would do it. And it was incredibly rewarding! I was really surprised by their enthusiasm to learn about a plant based lifestyle and at the cooking demos, the service men and women would come up for seconds and thirds! It was so great to see what they do and sacrifice for us overseas and I'm so honored to be able to serve our troops and promote the vegan lifestyle to such an important audience.
While those really stand out, I have gotten to visit over 100 countries and this year I will have been to all 7 continents. It's incredible to see how vegan food and lifestyle has globalized and how easy it is to eat well across the globe! From a tiny ship in the Galapagos to Iceland, a ship in Antarctica to the desert lands of Africa, From Moscow to Melbourne, I can truly say that vegan travel is not only easy but delicious.”
Carolyns Books and Recipes are unique.
First, being half Colombian and growing up in Miami, her Latin roots have really permeated her cooking style. Plus her international travel has really inspired me to try all sorts of global foods. She tries to satisfy a number of diets with her vegan recipes from gluten free and low calorie without ever sacrificing taste. It's all about “Sabor”
For example, her cookbook, The Healthy Voyager's Global Kitchen, is cookbook meets travel book. Every chapter is a different country or region, showcasing popular and traditional dishes from each location and veganized. Additionally, each recipe offers options for low/no oil, gluten free, soy free, etc so that everyone can enjoy all of the flavors the world has to offer.
Her favorite thing about my cookbook and cooking show is being able to share the origin stories of these dishes, teach her readers about different cultures and traditions and giving them a culinary way to travel the world from their very own kitchen. She feels food is the glue that brings everyone together and learning to appreciate food traditions around the world, just unites us even more.
For Carolyn there is always an adventure coming up. More and more travel, speaking engagements and appearances for sure. She is launching her line of healthy-to-go foods that will be the start of a whole line of vegan travel foods, supplements and more. She is also working on a super fun travel product, travel line, lifestyle/home line and signature Healthy Voyager vacations where her readers can join her around the world.

Women Life Connected is proud to introduce our newest Spotlight Member Constance Stellas.
In her own words, here is her story:
Women and Life
I am very pleased to be a part of this exciting and useful new venture of women who are contributing to further health in body, mind, and spirit.
My field of interest and profession for the past 25 years has been astrology. As Astrologers originally were doctors and counselors I have a great interest in health and how our astrological charts outline areas that we need to watch out for and when health crises might occur. An astrological chart based on the day, time, year, and place of birth is truly a useful map to guide all phases of life.
I came to Astrology through my first career as an actress in NYC. Of course everyone in the theatre wanted to know when they would be a star. I did too but after many shows, television and film, it seemed that the stars in the heaven were more my path. I began studying astrology and was fortunate to encounter an old school master who taught me. Before the proliferation of computers it was time consuming to calculate a chart and only the dedicated did so. Now it is very easy and we can get horoscopes delivered to our phones daily, weekly, or monthly. I imagine the ancient astrologer would have a good laugh about this. The computer has added valuable information to astrology but nothing can replace the one on one counselling that exists between astrologer and client. I feel fortunate to have worked with some people and families for over 25 years.
In addition to counseling clients I have written 4 books on astrology. On the web I write regularly for HuffPost and for Thrive Global. Currently, I am promoting my graphic novel series for kids: Tree of Keys. 12 orphans under the influence of a lunar eclipse become ASTRO HEROES based on the talents and challenges of their star sign and save the world. Issue 1, Threshold of Fire, is available on Amazon. I am actively looking for producers and publishers to complete the series. Also in the works is a book: The Tie That Binds: Astrological Guidance for Parents.
Many people read their daily forecast; this can be stimulating and give you an idea for the day. But the forecasts in the papers represent only one part of your entire map, the Sun. We also have Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. All these planets inform a person’s very individual character and destiny.

Constance Stellas lives and works in New York City.

Women Life Connected is proud to introduce our newest partner Gina Bender, Entrepreneur.
At 58 years old Gina Bender has dedicated most of her life in some fashion to helping others. Married for 23 years, mother of two daughters and grandmother to 4 Gina has a lifestyle so many women strive for. Gina was a nurse for 10 years, worked for the Airlines for 2 until she was introduced to Network Marketing where she has called this home for the past 28 years. A North Carolina native she was born with a nurturing gene. Her passion for helping others gave her “ignorance on fire” in an industry that has grown to the trillions in yearly sales.
Gina’s most recent adventure brought her back to a former colleague who was launching his own product line several years ago. Gina knew the products he had formulated would be life changing so it was an easy yes when he asked her to come on board. Gina has been instrumental in helping to create platforms that help the average person shorten their learning curve regarding the product line. It is a work in progress for the past 3 years. Gina’s passion for this product line stems from the fact that they provide science and new technology to their supplements that cannot be found in other products anywhere. Her mission is to help others become beacons of health, hope and abundance.
Women Life Connected has partnered with Gina and Victory Nutrition because of their outside the box thinking. There are no startup costs, free websites and no requirement to purchase monthly Gina’s influence is felt throughout this company and its marketing platform.
Gina has created a lifestyle for herself and her family that affords her the time to spend with them. When her mother in law became ill, she was able to pick up and move into her home with her husband to help nurse her back to health for 5-1/2 years. Mom is fully recovered and has moved to Cleveland, Ohio to spend time with family. Gina is blessed to know her time is her own. What an amazing thing to be able to have the flexibility in your life to make time for those who need you.
Gina lives with her husband Ed in Charlotte, NC.

Meet Amie Olson & Family
Women Life Connected is proud to spotlight it’s member Amie Olson. Amie is a designer by trade, health coach by passion and mom by miracle. Over the past 15 years, Amie has been dedicated in helping others grow their business, think outside of the box, and give them the drive and energy they need to succeed. She believes that anyone can do anything if they set their minds to it and loves to challenge clients, family and friends.
My name is Amie Olson. My passion for Health & Wellness started in my teenage years when I started to take athletics seriously and wanted to compete. I realized through painful experiences, that what I ate hindered my performance, my gut, and also my mood. Fast forward to today, I am still passionate about learning and have worked with and learned from amazing teachers from my School, Chiropractors, MD's, Dentists, Herbalists, Acupuncturists, Endocrinologists, Personal Trainers, Natural Food Store Owners...if you have natural health information to share, I am listening!
We all have our own stories and in my late 20's I battled unexplained infertility. If I knew what I know today, I would go back and never buy fat-free and low-fat foods, would be careful about the chemicals and agents that I was exposed to, paint that I chipped away and repainted in my college houses, an amalgam filling that I received at the dentist, perfumes and candles that I used because they smelled good, plastic bottles & plastic containers that I would microwave, chemicals that I would clean with, and managing stress before I would get burnt out. The list goes and on. I know I can't go back and make those changes but what I can do is educate my clients, community and friends to make smart decisions starting TODAY.
Luckily our bodies can naturally heal itself, once we find and remove the interference. So, yes, their is hope for me as well as hope for everyone out there who has either a health problem or just a goal that they want to reach. Sometimes it is a few simple changes that will reap life changing rewards. If you are batteling infertility and want to learn more about our experience with natural remedies, testing, and even the medical route of iui's, ivf, etc... please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I enjoy helping others and being ears to everything you are going through. I understand. It may have taken us longer (8 years) to have our family but God put us on the inferility journey for a reason, to help others. We are blessed today with our sons Owen and Liam.
As a graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I help others create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

Staying healthy from season to season is an ongoing concern with each season bringing it's own challenges. Our activity levels change as the days shorten and the temperatures plunge. Why not have a plan? Limit those comfort foods, keep your skin protected, stay active and get outdoors on a regular basis. All good advice to keep in mind.
But, one thing trumps them all. You need to consciously keep drinking plenty of mineral rich water. I drink 64 ounces a day. If I don't, my body let's me know with fatigue, hunger, dry skin, foggy thinking, aches and pains and even headaches. Just because it's not hot out doesn't mean you don't require water to hydrate. Every cell in your body needs H20 and minerals to operate efficiently. You can be dehydrated in cooler temperatures just like hot weather.

Meet Amanda Winter
Hello Everyone, my name is Amanda Winter. I just turned 40 this year and I never thought I would be saying I am the happiest I have ever been in my 40 years. For the past 20 years I have struggled with depression and anxiety. I would get jobs then lose those jobs. I had periods of great productivity and then weeks and months of lying curled up in a ball. Those were dark days for sure.
With the help of my family, friends and a drive that I was born with I have finally gotten my life together. I have a job I am proud of, have owned my own condo for 8 years now and have become an entrepreneur!
My life is busy and full yet I have learned over the years that it is important to take time out to relax and pamper myself too. We all need to take time for ourselves and I absolutely love that I get to do that every day.
Eating right, drinking water, taking care of my body and skin are all things that are a work in progress for me. I have created a business where I get to share that experience with women all over the world every single day. Being an independent business owner has given me a passion for living my life on my terms.
I used to laugh at the quote: “Life is all about the journey, not the destination”. Now it is my daily mantra.

Meet Heather Szasz
My name is Heather Szasz. 22 years ago I moved to Florida from England. I had always worked for companies and in fact my last job was working at the local hospital. One day I heard my friends arguing about cleaning their house. I said: "I will clean it” that was the start of my residential cleaning business, building 4 teams working for me. For whatever reason, this moment in time sparked the beginning of my life an as Entrepreneur.
Eventually I sold the business and then went to Animal Behavior College. For as long as I can remember I had always wanted to be a Professional Dog Trainer. I graduated and am thrilled to have a very successful referral based business.
Along the way, I was involved with a worldwide transformation company and volunteered as a life coach for many years heading up one of their leadership courses. I am very passionate about living a positive life and I am currently creating my 3rd successful business. Wealthy Mindset Mentor.
I love my life and the ability I have created to do what makes me happy each and every day. I love spending my time doing what I love. It’s what drives me and creates the story that is my life.
Heather is a partner with Women Life Connected bringing us a fabulous line of Healthy Pet Products.
Over twenty years ago at age 48, I was losing my teeth as a result of osteoporosis. I had allergies, fibroid tumors, arthritis in my knees and thumbs, recurring kidney infections, and I used an inhaler for my asthma. Back then, I didn’t understand that our bodies needed to be alkaline to de-toxify and heal. Or, that aging accelerates because of toxins in our environment and that antioxidants help repair that damage.
Thanks to a good friend who shared some nutraceutical products with my husband, our lives were changed. I was determined to learn how and why my husband’s condition was completely resolved. I took classes wherever there was a seminar or healthy living class. I learned from Naturopaths, Phlebotomists, Bio-Chemists, Bio-Physiologists, MDs, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Nurses, Nutritionists, and Medicine Men. I read everything I could get my hands on about nutrition and began sharing what I had learned. Remember, we didn’t have the internet back then. For the past 16 years, I have been providing information to help people improve their health. Teaching how the body works has been a very rewarding vocation.
Today at 69, I maintain an active lifestyle without any of those degenerative health issues that I had twenty years ago. I plan on skiing with my grandchildren until I’m in my 80’s and hiking until I’m 90. I believe vibrant health is about cellular integrity from the inside out.
Rena brings her years of experience as a mother, grandmother, and caretaker for her late husband with ALS. Life has brought many ups and downs which have given her a deep faith, as well as an optimistic attitude that there is always something amazing just around the corner. She has been a business owner for 25 years and is entering her “golden” years doing what she loves…teaching others how to improve their health with nutrition.
As a Certified Health Advocate Practitioner and Certified Microscopist, she has helped thousands of people gain clarity about how their own bodies work and how they can take responsibility for obtaining good health. She believes that by understanding the basics of hydration, minerals and enzymes more people can move toward living a healthier and more vital life. Not only has she experienced it herself but has seen it happen for so many.
“Developing Women Life Connected gives me the opportunity to bring value to other women on their own journey. Not only can I help foster healthier lifestyles, but by sharing stories in a way that may lighten hearts and bring the sense of possibility that it’s never too late to set a course for a more joyful, enriched life.”
“We are reaching out to you, our sisters. I hope you will join us on this journey of connection, sharing stories and lifting each other up along the way.”
Recently I found a worn out piece of paper in the back of my calendar. It's a paper I've been carrying around for quite some time that occasionally pull out and read.
It's from Max Lucado's On The Anvil titled "Today I Will Make A Difference"
Today I will make a difference.
I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of their thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark.
Today I will make a difference.
I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving.
Today I will make a difference.
I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's okay to stumble - I will get up. It's okay to fail - I will rise again.
Today I will make a difference.
I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children and friends.
Today I will make a difference.
